Billboards For Everyone Hits the Jersey Shore
The latest installment of ADstruc’s Billboards for Everyone program is now live on the Wildwood Boardwalk in New Jersey. This time around, we teamed up Visions Advertising Media, BA Reps, JWT New York, and Trustocorp, the anonymous New York based artist whose mission is ‘to highlight the hilarity of human behavior through sarcasm and satire’.
Trustocorp created two posters that draw inspiration from New Jersey’s pop-culture reputation. As another incredibly successful season of Jersey Shore comes to a close, ‘Somali Shore’ is intended to make passerbys stop and think about the attention we pay to TV shows and not what’s happening in the real world. Continuing the TV theme, ‘The Real Housewives of Baghdad’ shows two older women who have suffered through the ongoing situation in Iraq.
These posters, though tongue in cheek, show our commitment to the idea that everyone deserves a voice and a space to express themselves in the outdoor world – whether you are a hugely successful TV show or an artist with an interesting message. Using ADstruc’s outdoor media platform, we were able to target the exact time and location in order to maximize the impact of our message.
John Laramie, CEO of ADstruc, said, “Our Billboards for Everyone campaign is all about enabling artists to express their creative freedoms in unique locations. This campaign is no different. Simply, today’s culture obsesses over fabricated television drama and we wanted this campaign to drive awareness about real drama that is happening overseas, of which, we can all help. Billboards for Everyone!
We are excited to announce another installment of ADstruc’s, ‘Billboards for Everyone’ campaign. This billboard is located in St. Louis in their main train station and was designed by Ron English, the godfather of street art and who pioneered advertising mashups on billboards. The location for “You are not a clone” was chosen to speak to the mass of daily commuters who travel in and out of the train station. What’s particularly exciting about this ad is that it will be live for 3 months!
This unique billboard is part of the ADstruc’s ‘Billboards for Everyone’ campaign that partners with artists and designers to help promote creativity and innovation in the outdoor space.
Previous billboards have included a piece by Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One depicting migrant workers painting a billboard before being chased by police. This billboard was placed on the freeway in Arizona earlier in the year: http://bit.ly/nOKHHv. Other billboards have included an augmented reality one with feelings in NYC: http://bit.ly/o045N9
The ‘Billboards for Everyone’ program is helping promote ADstruc’s innovative online platform that makes buying out-of-home inventory simple and efficient for individuals and agencies alike.
The project is coordinated by ADstruc, BA Reps, Spread ArtCulture Magazine, and JWT New York. Stay tuned for the next installment coming to NYC!
Billboards for Everyone #2
ADstruc, the online marketplace for Out-of-Home media, has created a ‘Billboard with Feelings’ in downtown New York.
Partnering with Tronic Studios, for the design, and Fuel Outdoor for the billboard, which sits near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel, the ad simply reads, ‘Today I’m Feeling _____’. Using a unique GPS Augmented Reality app, GoldRun, passerby’s or drivers stuck in a jam can see if the billboard is happy or sad or, whether it feels like dancing or cheering on its favorite team.

Because the billboard is GPS tagged, a number of different images can appear at the same site making it more interactive than normal Augmented Reality applications. Essentially, taking a traditional billboard and making it digital. For example, users can change the feelings themselves using large-scale emoticons, and then post them to Facebook or Twitter.

Billboards for Everyone
We are excited to announce a new ADstruc project titled, “Billboards for Everyone”. ADstruc’s goal is to make billboards accessible and easy to purchase. Our first billboard (below), in Arizona, was designed by Shepard Fairey’s creative/marketing agency Studio Number One. Shepard is a world renowned artist who is known equally for his picture of Barack Obama and for pioneering a form of street art with his Obey work. The project is coordinated by ADstruc, BA Reps, Spread ArtCulture Magazine, and JWT New York.
We also worked with our partner Onsite Insite for the billboard space!
Stay tuned for more.
